Someone has made fake London Underground signs, and whoever did it is a ruddy genius.

TwitchTV App - CRAP UX

The Problem

TwitchTV has a pointless “Log Out” button in the top right. Once pressed its hard to deselect the popover as the chevron covers most of the button.  *I’m also not a fan of the hierarchy pattern used for the information architecture.

Quick Solution

1. Change the iconography. It looks like a profile button. It should say “Log Out”.

2. Just move the log out option to the bottom of the screen. Like Apple’s App Store.

Best Solution

*The best solution would be a redesign of the architecture (and UI). A tabbed pattern would be more suited for the amount of content TwitchTV has. Something like:

Featured | Games | Channels | Following | Search

Thanks TwitchTV

I would love to redesign @TwitchTV ‘s mobile app.

My O2 app - CRAP UX

Problem 1

I have ran out of UK data. So I try to buy a Bolt On and get the error "Opps something’s wrong. Please try again later." The reason for this Error is probably because O2 are slowing down my internet connection so much the app cant properly connect. This happens every month and I need to wait till i can find a free wifi connection to buy a new Bolt On

Solution

Give users more than 2GB.

Don’t restrict the internet if the user is trying to buy a Bolt On.  It needs to be as easy as possible for users to spend money.

Send a push notification or a text before cutting them off from the online world.

Problem 2

Everytime I enter my 4 digit PIN, The app is slow to respond and only inputs 2 or 3 asterisks. This requires me to re-enter the PIN (but much slower).

Solution

O2 need a Dev to sort out the code. OR they could give the users a choice of no PIN.

Thanks O2

The Problem
You are listening to music in the iOS “music” app and you press the back button. (Depending on where you are) the back button turns into a “store” button. This will launch a slow loading iTunes app and take you away from the music app.

The Solution
iOS6 had a solution: The “store” button would only work if you pressed it twice coming from a different page. This will stop any accidental presses and gives the users enough time to realise where they are and what they are doing.

Alternatively they could put the store button in a different place.
